How AI works in ReelClip

The AI runs on your iPhone.

ReelClip uses Apple Intelligence to help you find moments worth keeping. It runs entirely on your iPhone. Your video never leaves your device.

What it can do

•Read your transcript to understand what was said and find moments like hooks, quotes, or key topics
•Check still frames across your video for objects, on-screen text, and faces, and note when each appears
•Combine what it sees with what was said, so prompts like "remove the product shots" or "keep the talking-to-camera parts" work
•Suggest clip ranges or passage removals you can review, adjust, and approve before anything is saved

What it can't do yet

•Watch full video in motion. It samples still frames at intervals and reads the transcript, but cannot follow action or pacing between frames
•Understand audio emotionally (tone, sarcasm, music). It reads transcript text and audio levels
•Take in a very long video all at once. Past a point it has to work in sections

These limits come from the model, not the app

The list above describes what Apple's on-device model can handle today. When Apple improves it, ReelClip picks up the improvement.

Apple Intelligence requires iOS 26 and a supported device. It can be turned off at any time in Settings. When unavailable, ReelClip falls back to on-device audio and visual analysis without any AI features.
